About this list

Monday is a busy chess day around Barcelona. Torrenegra in the Eixample opens to visitors on the first Monday of each month and keeps the other Mondays for members' free play, and Torreblanca in L'Hospitalet sets aside Monday afternoons for play with no booking and no minimum level. In Cornellà the club room stays open late into the evening.

Many city clubs combine Monday classes with club hours: Congrés and La Lira in Sant Andreu, the Sant Martí club, Tres Peons in Gràcia, L'Espiga in Les Corts, Escacs Comtal in Poble-sec and Catalunya Escacs Club in Sants, several of them with children's groups in the late afternoon and adults later in the evening. Vila Olímpica has held a first-team class online on Monday nights. Visitor rules are not always stated, so write to the club before turning up.
