Friday evenings in autumn belong to the weekly opens. El Prat de Llobregat plays its city open on Friday nights, Escacs Comtal holds the Copa Poble-Sec over a series of Fridays, and Tres Peons runs the Obert Vila de Gràcia, a long-standing open with classical time controls. Each needs registration in advance, and some cap the number of players.

In August, the international opens of Badalona and Sant Adrià de Besòs play a round every day, Fridays included, for players who want a tournament holiday close to home.
